I began dancing at the age of two and have been doing so since. My training is in: ballet, jazz, contemporary, African, lyrical and modern. During my dance carreer I developed a love for choreography and have orchestrated pieces in collaboration and solo. Dancing and choreographing has served as a form of therapy and allows me the creative expression to share my life experiences with a greater audience.

Science inserted itself into my life while I was in the 7th grade where I had complete a book report. Rachel Carson was the feature human of my book report and while reading her biography, my heart clenched while reading about forests silenced by DDT.  Empathetic to the wild things, which had no voice against human decisions, I decided I would one day be a voice to protect them. Today I am a botanist and not only do I want to protect plants through ecological restoration and research, but also to share my knowledge with the general public and be a gateway for the public in understanding the field of science and its’ processes.
