Velcro invented by plants

Desmodium illinoense or “Tick trefoil” a prairie plant native to Illinois is directly connected to any human who has ever been a child…… BECAUSE IT’S WHERE VELCRO CAME FROM!

These seeds dispurse by clinging to animal fur with tiny “hooks” on their seeds. When humans took a closer look at this seed they recognized the usefulness of this design, thus, Velcro was born.
