This drought tolerant North American-native plant in the sunflower family is sure to put a pep in your step; a desirable ornamental and a common addition to modern day wedding bouquets, you can have more of this plant in your life if you so desire. Gayfeather or Blazing Star are the common names of this species; they attract birds and butterflies and can be found in many urban gardens. So next time your walking around a city scene, look a little closer at the gardens you pass and maybe you will find gayfeather.
